Long awaited update

Hmm where to begin??

Dolly - no nothing new there...Except

Dolly and I have started walking/running/dying together every day
As for everything else, here goes...school is in full swing, we already have our first moot court problem.  And, our brief is due on the 15th of October - hence the lack of blog posts.

Andrew's school is going well, he had his first day in the hospital today.  Besides having to be there at 5 am I think he really enjoyed it.

Controlled Chaos had our first games last weekend. (I will post a link to Sara Brown's blog when she posts pictures)  Controlled Chaos is the softball team I play for.  We meet the Chaos part of our name, but not too sure about the controlled part.

Proof there is no control - our coaches foot after he failed to get out of the way during bp
Other than that not much else has been going on.  Please continue to pray for mum though as she enters the last part of her treatment.  She will be having stem cell replacement in December.

I hope everyone is doing well - love you all (notice no y'all) and I will post again soon.

Oh and I will leave you with a picture from my new favorite time waster - expect these to start making weekly appearances...

The last first day of school

Well today is officially my last ever first day of school.  That is right people, I am finally a 3L.  This time next year I will have finished the bar exam, and hopefully be sitting at my new big girl job!!

I had one class today, only and hour and fifteen minutes, that was just long enough to realize that my attention span has some what shortened over the summer!!  (And by somewhat I mean I was already having to refocus after 10 minutes!!)

Other than that the day is going well.  I am currently distracted (obviously) from working on some class reading, but once that is done I will be going home to see my sweet husband and puppy.

NZ - Dear Photograph

A few weeks ago I posted a blog about a website I found called Dear Photograph.  Well as promised, here are a few of my attempts.

Dear Photograph,
I miss the days when my biggest concern was what towel to use
Dear Photograph,
Gone are the days of matching clothes, but we still have the same ability to strike a pose
Dear Photograph,
Before there was video games, we made our own entertainment
Dear Photograph,
The house may have changed, but the fun times haven't

NZ - Part Three

This trip has been an interesting one.  Thankfully both my sisters were also in town!  Even though we haven't seen each other in awhile, things always pick up right where they left off.  This photo shoot from lunch one day will hopefully show what I mean...

Ooo a normal photo..
Tash decided I looked too brown so she was trying to even us out
I am doing a wall sit in an unsuccessful attempt to be the tallest
Busted
Hmm...not really sure what was going on here

I love these two so much!!

NZ - Part Two

Today we spent some time looking through family photos - I was trying to find some to do the "dear photograph" thing with.  A lot of the ones I found were taken in Hong Kong or England so I wont be able to use them, still thought it would be neat to share some of the cute ones.  We have had a great laugh, boy the three of us were trouble!!

NZ - Part One

The 24 hours of traveling are over - I made it to NZ!

I arrived in NZ at 5:10 am.  Mum and Dad were there at the airport to meet me, I greeted Dad with my traditional welcome...catch me daddy!!  (worked a little better when I was 7, but oh well)  We have spent the last two days up at Scott's Landing, we stayed at Dad's bosses place.  It was a lot of fun and we had a great time catching up.  Here are a few photos to show what we have been up to...

Princess Dolly

Posing!!
While most people blog about their children, I don't have any so the dog will have to do.  Yes I have a dog; but no, I am not one of those obsessive people who thinks their dog can talk back to them or that their dog needs to eat better than they do.  Dolly eats plain dog biscuits from the floor just like a dog should, and on the odd occasion she gets a bone.

So how did Dolly come into our lives?  It was before we were married - I had been telling Andrew how I always wanted a puppy, but was never allowed one.  He refused to take me to the animal shelter knowing that if we went, we would not be coming back empty handed.  Thankfully his tone changed during one of the "puppy days" at the Lee County Humane Society.

There were plenty of puppies to choose from, (side note spay your pets!!) yet Dolly seemed to grab Andrew's attention - specifically when she got her head stuck in the crate and started whining...we should have known then!!  Long story short, we now have Dolly, who is named after the hurricane that came through when she was little.  She is a lab mixed with who knows what!

Here are some pictures of the princess - I call her that because we got her a new bed and she spends most of the day on it snoring like she doesn't have a care in the world...I will post some of her antics throughout the summer too.

She was a cute puppy!
No, this is not her bed, she was helping me study

The Adventures of Tintin

I have recently rediscovered a childhood love of mine, The Adventures of Tintin.

Tintin and Snowy 1

The Candy's, my neighbors growing up, were in to these books and Sarah and I would sit there and read them on rainy days.  I came across a 3-in-1 Tintin book at Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago and reading through it has rekindled my love of Tintin and Snowy.  Since reading through this book I have ordered two more 3-in-ones off of Amazon and am so excited for their arrival this weekend.  With everything going on right now losing myself in the Adventures of Tintin has been very welcome!

The first of my new collection 2

For those of you who are unfamiliar with these books, Tintin is a reporter who manages to get into all kinds of interesting situations involving criminals and gangs.  He inevitably ends up solving mysterious crimes and capturing the bad guy.  Tintin books are written in a comic book with amazing drawings.3

Little Kids Camp

Well we finished with little kid camp last night - talk about exhausting!!  We had over 100 campers ranging from 2nd to 6th grade.  I worked with the catchers during the day, and Coach was awesome in giving me the really young kids as my team for the night time games.  We had a lot of fun, and it was awesome to see all of these girls improve over the three and a half days that we had them.  I can't really do the experience justice by writing about it, so here are some photos.  Also, check out this video of one of the cheers.

My team - the Diamondbacks

The Holt sisters - pitcher catcher duo

Derek Jeter - DJ3K

Air Jordan, long time sponsor of Derek Jeter has come out with the neatest gift to honor Jeter in his quest for 3,000 hits. (He is currently at 2,998).  Made specially for Jeter and not available to the public.  Jordan has created a line called DJ3K with turfs, cleats, and batting gloves.  The turf shoes are in his high school colors, to represent where he started his career, and the liners in both pairs of shoes feature a contract he made with his dad before he started high school.

The best part is the note to Jeter on the front of the box written by the Air Jordan team.  It truly sums up why he is one of the most respected players in baseball.

You can see pictures of all the items, including the note here.
